A HUGE FIRE AT THE MUMBAI HIGHRISE LEFT 2 DEAD AND SEVERAL INJURED.
A
massive fire broke out inside a 20-story residential structure in Mumbai this
morning, killing two people.
The
big blaze started about 7 a.m. on the 18th floor of the Kamla building opposite
Gandhi Hospital near Gowalia Tank in Mumbai's Tardeo district, injuring at
least 15 people.
Six
senior persons required oxygen assistance, according to Mumbai Mayor Kishori
Pednekar, who spoke to news agency ANI. The blaze "Although the situation

The
fire department and police had hurried to the scene after being notified.
According
to a city official, the firefighting operation includes 13 fire engines and
seven water jetties, among other things, and it has been classified as a
level-3 (large) fire.
The
injured were transferred to the nearby Bhatia Hospital, where 12 were admitted
to the general ward because their health was stable, while three were admitted
to the intensive care unit because their condition was serious.
Two
persons were declared brought dead, according to a doctor at the Bhatia
Hospital.
Mangal
Prabhat Lodha, the Maharashtra BJP president and MLA, described the occurrence
as "unfortunate."
