A ROCK COLLAPSED ON TWO BOATS AT A WATERFALL IN BRAZIL, KILLING SEVEN PEOPLE AND INJURING NINE MORE

On Saturday, a wall of rock toppled on top of their motorboats below a waterfall in Sul Minas, Brazil, killing at least seven people and injuring nine others.

Capitolio Canyons, a renowned tourist site in Minas Gerais, was the scene of the event. On social media, viral videos showed a tower of rocks breaking away from the cliff wall and cascading down on two boats, causing a massive wave to wash over the lake.

Local authorities told Reuters that three persons were still missing after others who were thought to be lost were found via phone.

According to OTempo news, the Brazilian Navy announced it would launch an investigation into the circumstances of the disaster.

Heavy rain has been falling in the area for the past two weeks, which may have loosened the rock face.
