A SECURITY ALERT WAS ISSUED ON REPUBLIC DAY, INDICATING A TERROR PLOT AND A THREAT TO PRIME MINISTER MODI.
According
to a nine-page intelligence input, PM Modi and other dignitaries who will be
present at the Republic Day celebrations face a threat.
The
intelligence agencies received a warning on Republic Day about a possible
terror plot against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries.
Kazakhstan,
Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan are all likely to be
invited as prominent guests.
The
threat had originated from parties headquartered in the
Pakistan/Afghanistan-Pakistan region, according to the message. These groups
intended to sabotage/disrupt public gatherings, critical establishments, and
crowded places in order to attack high-ranking dignitaries.
Drones
could also be used to carry out the strikes. Terrorist groups such as
Lashkar-e-Taiba, The Resistance Force, Jaish-e-Mohammad, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen,
and Hizb-ul-Mujahedeen are claimed to be behind the threat, according to the
information.
According
to the information, Pakistan-based Khalistani groups are also mobilising cadres
to reunite and resurrect militancy in Punjab. They also intend to carry out
targeted assaults in Punjab and other provinces.
Khalistani terror groups are planned to assault the Prime Minister's meeting and tour sites, according to information gathered in February 2021.
