Delhi, India: India's Covid curve improved slightly today, with 2.58 lakh cases
recorded, down about 5% from yesterday. According to the Health Ministry, 385
people have died as a result of Covid in the last 24 hours.
Here
are the top ten coronavirus updates in India:

The total number of cases in the country now stands at 3.73 million. This
includes 8,209 Omicron variant cases, which are currently found in 29 states.

Active cases currently account for 4.43 percent of all infections, while the
COVID-19 recovery rate in the United States has dropped to 94.27 percent. The
daily positivity rate increased from 16.28% to 19.65%, while the weekly
positivity rate remained at 14.41 percent.

Maharashtra, one of the worst-affected states by the Covid epidemic, reported
41,327 new coronavirus infections and 29 fatalities, down from 1,135 the day
before. The total number of cases is now 72,11,810, with 1,41,808 deaths. In
the state, eight new Omicron cases have been reported, bringing the total
number of such infections to 1,738.

According to health department data, Delhi had 18,286 COVID-19 cases and 28
deaths on Sunday, with the positive rate dropping to 27.87 percent from 30.64
percent the day before. According to State Health Minister Satyendar Jain, the
city performs three times the number of diagnostic tests suggested by the ICMR.

Asymptomatic patients do not need to be tested, according to the Center's
revised guidelines. Contacts of COVID-19 patients with laboratory confirmation
do not need to be checked unless they have comorbidities or are beyond the age
of 60.

36. Maharashtra has 1,41,808 fatalities, Kerala has 50,832, Karnataka has
38,431 deaths, Tamil Nadu has 36,989 deaths, Delhi has 25,363 deaths, Uttar
Pradesh has 22,963 deaths, and West Bengal has 20,088 deaths.

(NCPCR), a total of 1,47,492 children have lost their mother, father, or both
parents as a result of COVID-19 and other factors. According to the child
rights organisation, the majority of youngsters are between the ages of eight
and thirteen.

On Sunday, the countrywide immunisation campaign against COVID-19 came to an
end after a year, with over 156.76 crore vaccine doses administered. Prime
Minister Narendra Modi praised the vaccine campaign, saying it has bolstered
