A MASSIVE ASTEROID IS SPEEDING TOWARDS EARTH AND IS EXPECTED TO FLY NEAR ON MARCH 4TH
Even
today, space remains an impenetrable mystery for scientists all across the
world. Scientists from all over the world are tracking the spacecraft's every
step in order to better comprehend it. As much as there is a desire to learn
about space, there is also a great deal of danger associated with it.
We
frequently hear and see numerous such astronomical events that result in a
global crisis. Similarly, scientists have detected another asteroid that is
heading towards Earth and has been categorised as 'possibly hazardous' by NASA.
Asteroids have long posed a significant threat to humanity and the Earth.
Scientists
just found that a fast-moving asteroid is heading straight for the Earth. The
scientists have also shared information about this. It is predicted that if it
continues to develop at its current rate and does not change its course, the
earth will face a major disaster.
The
asteroid 138971 (2001 CB21), which ranges in size from 560 metres to 1.3
kilometres, will approach the sun at a distance of 49 lakh kilometres on March
4 at 1.30 pm IST. Gianluca Masi of Italy's Virtual Telescope Project snapped a
photo of a possibly deadly asteroid hurtling towards Earth at a speed of 26,800
miles per hour.
The
astroid completes its orbit every 400 days, according to NASA's Jet Propulsion
Laboratory (JPL), and its closest approach to Earth will be no early than 2043.
The asteroid 2001 CB21 is expected to swing by Earth at a speed of 43,236
kilometres per hour, according to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
The
cosmic object was last seen in 2006, speeding by Earth from a distance of 71
lakh kilometres, according to the agency.
Human
existence can be wiped out by the collision of a massive asteroid, as has been
demonstrated previously. Due to the impact of an asteroid, the existence of a
massive dinosaur from Earth came to an end. It is critical to maintain a close
check on cosmic occurrences in order to avert any such hazard.
