FOR THE SECOND DAY IN A ROW, INDIA HAS FEWER THAN 1 LAKH CASES; 67,597 NEW INFECTIONS HAVE BEEN REGISTERED IN THE LAST 24 HOURS.


 In the last 24 hours, India has recorded 67,597 new cases of coronavirus, down 19.4 percent from yesterday. It raises the overall number of cases in the country to 4,23,39,611.

Kerala leads the way with 22,524 cases, followed by Maharashtra (6,436 cases), Karnataka (6,151 cases), Tamil Nadu (5,104 cases), and Madhya Pradesh (3,945 cases).

The five states are responsible for 65.33 percent of new cases, with Kerala alone accounting for 33.32 percent.

Throughout the last 24 hours, 1,188 deaths have been registered in the country, bringing the overall number of deaths to 5,04,062. In the last 24 hours, 1,80,456 patients have recovered, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 4,08,40,658 across the country. The recovery rate in India is now at 96.46 percent.

The number of active cases in India is 9,94,891. Active cases have decreased by 1,14,047 in the last 24 hours.

In the last 24 hours, India has administered a total of 55,78,297 doses, bringing the total number of doses administered to 1,70,21,72,615.

In the previous 24 hours, a total of 13,46,534 samples were tested.
