New Delhi, India: In the last 24 hours, India reported 50,407 new Covid cases, down 13% from yesterday. The daily optimism rate fell to 3.48 percent from 3.49 percent the day before.

1. The active caseload in India is currently 6,10,443. Active cases account for 1.43 percent of all Covid infections in the United States. Cases are declining in most Indian states after a spike in infections in January, fueled by the novel Covid variant Omicron.

2. The daily optimism rate fell to 3.48 percent from 3.49 percent the day before. The weekly optimism rate in India is 5.07 percent.

3. In the previous 24 hours, India has reported 804 deaths. In Kerala, there was a backlog of 251 deaths.

4. The current recovery rate is 97.37 percent. In the last 24 hours, there have been 1,36,962 recoveries.

5. On Friday, Delhi reported 977 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest number since December 29, as well as 12 more deaths and a 1.73 percent positivity rate. With this, the number of cases in the national capital has risen to 18,49,596 and the number of deaths has risen to 26,047.

6. In the previous 24 hours, India executed 14,50,532 Covid tests.

10. As of now, India has provided 172.29 crore vaccine doses as part of its countrywide vaccination campaign.
