CEASEFIRE BY RUSSIA IN FOUR UKRAINIAN CITIES TO ALLOW EVACUATIONS: 10 POINTS

Delhi, India: Russia will hold fire and provide humanitarian corridors in
Ukraine's capital Kyiv and three other cities starting at 0700 GMT (12.30 pm
IST) today, according to the Interfax news agency.

Beginning at 12.30 p.m. IST on Monday, Russia declared a truce in Kyiv,
Kharkiv, Mariupol, and Sumy. According to Russia's defence ministry, the
humanitarian routes are being established at the request of French President
Emmanuel Macron.

Efforts to evacuate residents from Mariupol, which is under siege, failed for
the second time today owing to ceasefire violations. The city's residents are
without power and water.

According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, a volley of Russian missiles has
destroyed Vinnytsia airport in central Ukraine.

According to the BBC, three civilians were killed by mortar fire while
attempting to evacuate Irpin.
